Rob Adams

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Rob joined Perpetual as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in September 2018.

Rob is a proven financial services business leader with over 30 years’ experience locally and globally across funds management, financial advice and fiduciary services.

Before Perpetual, Rob was Head of Pan-Asia and a member of the Global Executive Committee of Janus Henderson where he had been for six years.

Throughout his career, he has established, grown and led businesses at Janus Henderson, Challenger and Colonial First State.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Business degree (Accounting). He is married with four children and lives in Sydney.

 

Chris Green

Chris Green

Chief Financial Officer

Chris was appointed Chief Financial Officer in October 2018. He joined Perpetual in 2006 and prior to his current role was Group Executive of Corporate Trust from 2008-2018. Chris was at JPMorgan from 1996-2006 where he spent 9 years in London as Vice President of the Institutional Trust Services business and a year as head of that business for the Australasia region.

Chris was previously Chairman of the Australian Securitisation Forum and a member of the Advice Board of the Financial Services Council. He is currently completing a BA in Philosophy at the University of London.

David Lane

David Lane

Group Executive, Perpetual Asset Management, International

David was appointed Group Executive, Perpetual Asset Management International in November 2020 to lead this newly created division. He is responsible for Perpetual’s international asset management business which includes Trillium Asset Management with locations across the USA and Scotland; Barrow Hanley in Dallas, USA and Perpetual’s offices in the UK, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. In addition, he is responsible for sourcing and executing asset management transactions.

Before taking on his current role, David was Group Executive, Mergers & Acquisitions.

David initially joined Perpetual in April 2017 as Group Executive, Perpetual Investments.  In this role, David was responsible for leading the end-to-end business of Perpetual Investments, Perpetual’s specialised asset management division.

David is a member of Perpetual Limited’s Executive Committee; a Director of Perpetual Investments Management Limited; Barrow Hanley Mewhinney & Strauss LLC; Perpetual Asset Management UK Ltd; Trillium Asset Management UK Ltd; Perpetual Netherlands, NV and Executive Sponsor of Perpetual’s Diversity Council.

David has more than 30 years’ experience in asset management, wealth management and investment banking and a deep understanding of the local and global financial services landscape. Before Perpetual, David spent five years as CEO of Count Financial after initially joining the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in the role of General Manager for Wealth Management Strategic Development.

Prior to this he held COO positions at both Neuberger Berman and Liberty View Capital where he was responsible for managing a number of multi-billion dollar hedge funds. He has also held roles at Aetos Capital, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

David attended The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania completing a Bachelor of Economics degree (with Honours) in 1989.
 

Amanda Gillespie

Amanda Gillespie

Group Executive, Perpetual Asset Management, Australia

Amanda was appointed Group Executive, Perpetual Asset Management, Australia in November 2020.  Amanda is responsible for leading the Australian division of Perpetual Asset Management, which includes the Australian Equities, Credit & Fixed Income, Global Innovation Share Fund and Multi Asset investment management teams.

Amanda is a Director of Perpetual Investments Management Limited; Perpetual Equity Investment Company Limited and Trillium Asset Management Group, LLC.

Amanda joined Perpetual in February 2018 and has held the prior roles of General Manager Client Solutions & Strategy and more recently, General Manager Perpetual Investments. 

Amanda has more than 21 years of investment experience in asset management and investment research. Prior to joining Perpetual, Amanda was CEO of Lonsec where she played a key role in building out Lonsec’s investment and superannuation research and consulting capabilities.  In this role, she was also Chair of the Future Generation Global Investment Company (ASX.FGG) Investment Committee and was an Investment Guardian on the TV show ‘The Investment Series’. Before being appointed CEO, Amanda headed up Lonsec Research and was also Head of Investment Consulting. Prior to Lonsec, Amanda spent six years at BT Funds Management.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Economics/Econometrics (Hons) degree from Monash University.

Mark Smith

Mark Smith

Group Executive, Perpetual Private

Mark joined Perpetual as Group Executive, Perpetual Private in November 2012. At Perpetual, he leads the Group’s wealth business, which includes the philanthropic, trustee and high net worth advisory businesses, as well as Fordham, a business specialising in accounting and advisory services to business owners.

Mark has over 20 years’ financial services experience, gained predominantly at BT Financial Group, Westpac’s wealth management arm. Most recently at BT Financial Group, he held the role of General Manager of bank distribution and insurance, with responsibility for approximately 1.5 million customers and over $2 billion in gross written premium. Before this, he also held the role of CEO of BT Funds Management New Zealand and headed BT's market platform business.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University, and is a recipient of the David William Fellowship Award. He is also an Associate of the AICD and an Associate of Finsia.

Richard McCarthy

Richard McCarthy

Group Executive, Perpetual Corporate Trust

Richard joined Perpetual in 2007 as Director Sales and Relationship Management, and has been General Manager Sales & Relationship Management, Product & Strategy and Marketing since 2011. Richard has more than 23 years’ experience in banking and financial services, with deep sector knowledge in debt capital markets and managed funds. Prior to joining Perpetual, Richard was the Vice President, Head of Relationship Management at BNY Mellon’s Corporate Trust Division in Sydney and previously spent eight years at JP Morgan in London. Richard is a Director of the Australian Digital Commerce Association.

Adam Quaife

Executive General Manager, Global Distribution

Adam joined Perpetual Investments in September 2019 as Executive General Manager of Global Distribution at Perpetual Investments. In this role, he is responsible for Perpetual’s Asset Management team for local and global sales and distribution teams. Adam has a proven record of 25 years in leading and developing international distribution teams, predominately in investment management with a bias to institutional business development. 

Adam spent the past 18 years with Franklin Templeton, a US Global Investment Manager which manages over US$30bn in assets for institutional and retail investors worldwide. Adam’s experience in investment management, with a bias to institutional business development, provided the opportunity to lead Distribution Teams in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, advancing to Co-CEO and Regional Head of Gulf & Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, and Eastern Europe, and most recently as Co-CEO and Regional Head of Franklin Templeton’s South East Asia business. 

Adam has a Bachelor of Commerce with Curtin University of WA, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments focused on Investment Management from FINSIA.  

Chuck Thompson

Chuck Thompson

Head of Distribution and Strategy, Americas

Chuck joined the Australian based financial firm, Perpetual Limited, in the first quarter of 2020 as Head of Distribution & Strategy for the Americas and co-director of the Perpetual US Holding Company. He brings decades of extensive experience building institutional and intermediary teams and aligning product strategies to help advisors, consultants and intermediaries in meeting their clients’ needs.

Before joining Perpetual, Chuck was a founding member of the Henderson Global Investors, North American team and led Distribution & Product Development for Henderson from 2010 until the merger of Janus Henderson in June of 2017. Previously, he has served as Regional Vice President for Van Kampen Investments, Trustee & Vice President of the Henderson Global Funds board, and Head of Distribution for Snow Capital Management.

Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition in 1992 from Moody Music College and has leveraged the compositional creativity skills he learned to apply to the Investment Management field. He is married to Dr. Joi Thompson, D.C., they have four children and reside in the Chicagoland area. He is an active trustee for Outreach Community Ministries, an organization dedicated to education and mentoring, including case management, counselling, youth development programs, transitional housing programs, older adult programs, employment training and community development services. He also serves as a High School youth mentor and elder of the Christ Church of Oak Brook and enjoys participating with the high school mission team building homes in partnership with DOXA, a 30 year old home building, education and community development charity in Tijuana, Mexico.

Susie Reinhardt

Head of Investor Relations

Susie recently joined Perpetual to lead the Group’s investor relations program. She is a valued specialist in investor relations and corporate communications, with over 10 years’ experience helping ASX listed companies with their investor relations programs. Before joining Perpetual, Susie worked at consultancy Cannings Strategic Communications where she provided investor relations and corporate communications advice to a range of small, mid-cap and large-cap listed companies. Earlier in her career, she worked in equities research at WilsonHTM and then at ANZ Group within the corporate advisory team.

Susie holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology and an Advanced Diploma of Applied Finance from Kaplan.
